Sunday Holy Liturgy on St. Prophet Elijah

Today on Sunday 08/02/2015, 9th Sunday after Pentecost, the faithful people participated in the Holy Liturgy by taking the Holy Communion.

RESURRECTIONAL TROPARION – TONE 8:

Thou didst descend from on high, O Merciful One! Thou didst accept the three day burial to free us from our sufferings!// O Lord, our Life and Resurrection, glory to Thee!

TROPARION st.Elijah  – TONE 4:

An angel in the flesh and the cornerstone of the Prophets, the second forerunner of the coming of Christ, glorious Elijah sent grace from on high to Elisha, to dispel diseases and to cleanse lepers.// Therefore he pours forth healings on those who honor him.

RESURRECTIONAL  KONTAKION – TONE 4:

The mystery of all eternity, unknown even by Angels, through thee, O Theotokos, is revealed to those on earth: God incarnate by union without confusion He voluntarily accepted the Cross for us, by which He resurrected the first-created man,//saving our souls from death.
