Orthodox Synaxis May 31, 2024

Christ is risen!

Once again on May 31 2024, with the blessing of His Grace, our Bishop and father Kyr Irinej, we had our 3rd Orthodox Synaxis (gathering) at our Parish of Holy Resurrection of Christ, and the blessing to have in our midst as our guest speaker for the night, our dear Fr. Stephen Vernak, the rector of the Christ the Savior, Orthodox Church of America Parish in Harrisburg PA.

The event started with the service of the Canon to the Most holy Theotokos, where V. Rev. Fr. Stephen Vernak, V. Rev. Fr. Timothy Hojnicki the rector from the Holy Apostles parish (OCA) from Mechanicsburg and our Parish priest presbyter Borjan Vitanov, served together.

After the service everyone gathered at the Church hall and upon the blessing of the meal which we are thankful for all of those who prepared it, our dear Fr. Stephen Vernak gave wonderful lecture on "Sacrament of Thanksgiving: Reflections on the Eucharist", followed by Q&A.

We are thankful to God for this opportunity to edify each other in person and be able to talk about the beauty and the inexhaustible and lifegiving Eucharist as a mystery which Christ gave us, so He can always dwell in us, and we in Him from the times of the Apostles till this day.

This evening was beautiful prelude to the upcoming Sunday Liturgy as a perfect reminder of how much God loves us and because of this love, He offers Himself freely in the mystery of His Most Precious Body and Blood, of which all of us, even though unworthy we partake always.
